Henio the mouse sleeps in a crib. Here is a beautiful handmade mouse bed. In the crib sleeps a tiny mouse in cotton pajamas. The furniture is wooden, handmade by Lukasz in a small carpentry workshop in Kurpie region. It has rounded edges and resembles the shape of an old bed that my grandmother used to play with. I, meaning Zuza, am responsible for the color and fabric selection. I use chalk paints and wax from Autentico. I apply many layers of paint and sand with very fine paper to even out the surface and achieve a slight aged effect. Minor irregularities or visible nails are the intended effect. The final step is to apply wax and lightly polish. All my work is slow and makes the furniture extremely smooth, very carefully finished and velvety to the touch. The set includes bedding sewn by Grandma Henia and a purple blanket cut from mint-colored steamed wool. The mattress, cushion and quilt are sewn from beautiful cotton in elderberry fruit and tiny elves. This beautiful fabric comes from the collection of fabrics with illustrations by Daniela Drescher…. In the crib sleeps a mouse sewn by Alice. All made of linen, the eyes, nose, face and whiskers are embroidered. The tail is made of string. Mouse sewn by hand, with great precision in every detail. Henio is dressed in one-piece pajamas fastened at the back with a snap button. The garment is removable. It is sewn from blue cotton with darker fine stripes.
